BLACKHEART CREST

A friend of mine requested a crest for his LARP character. I was given a list of items to steer towards and items to stay away from, some samples of what he likes that's out there, and then a very detailed origin/history background of his character. All in all, I would need to make a majestic, evil, dark crest. His character is wealthy bad ass. Key items would be a black heart, two swords (rage, the other discipline), and the colors red and black. Still not done, but we are getting close . . .

DSS R.I.P.

design support systems will be coming to a close. I have had that site since college and it was time for a refresh. It was time for Kerfren Kreative to get a logo.

MIA?

It's been awhile. My temp gig has become an official FT position. I am quite excited to be learning yet another angle of the packaging business through design. I have always been in the design shops working for clients - now I am the client working as a part of the in house creative services. I work with a great team and I am looking fwd to a new wave of challenges and accomplishments.

The new job is very rich in licensed works with Disney and I have a baby girl coming soon, so I imagine my drive for full creative work will increase as my actual freetime will decrease. So it is! That's what this blog was always intended for anyways. My freetime, out of the norm creative work. Small freelance pieces, personal endeavors, etc. Professional portfolio materials are on Coroflot, this blog is for all the fun little misc projects I get to sneak in. Thanks for looking.

PLAYTIME! A Charity Art Show by The Autumn Society

THE SHOW - PLAYTIME
The Autumn Society is proud to present it’s first charity art show! Toys bring children joy, spark imaginations and inspire creativity. Help others in the Philadelphia area so that less fortunate children can still have the joy of a new toy this holiday season. What was your first toy? Your favorite? What amazing adventures did you go on with your action figures? What distant planets did you explore with your spaceship? The Autumn Society will show you their visions of childhood favorites - somewhere between plastic molding & imagination.

There will be a donation box on site for new, unwrapped toys for our local Philadelphia Chapter Toys for Tots. And a portion of the proceeds will go to Toys for Tots nationally. Join us this December on First Friday for the art, the nostalgia, and the gift of charity.

8-BIT CALAVERA SHOW

"MUERTO PERO NO OLVIDADO"
Ground Kontrol of Portland, OR is doing an awesome "Day of the Dead" art show with NES carts as the canvas. These 40 individual carts will be done by different members of the autumn society and will be arranged to create a larger skull final piece. Great concept and I am looking fwd to seeing everyone's work.

My piece was a runaway spin off from my brainstorming session from the Video Game Gore Show collection of doodles. I had the idea of using NES carts as tombstones and zombie NES characters crawling out of the dirt. Here was my chance to revisit that concept.

VIDEO GAME GORE SHOW IN PHILLY!

"EVOLUTION"
Posters now available here!

I finally joined The Autumn Society after a year of deliberation. Illustration has always been my second love after graphic design. I fell in love with joe's project after the 8-Bit Show in Philly. After seeing how much fun everyone had with the 3G Show in CA I could not put it off any longer. I contacted Joe and Jeff to learn about the next show. I couldn't have picked a better time - the theme for the next collaboration was Halloween and video games; Video Game Gore! I couldn't be more excited. (awesome promo flyer by Evan M. Lopez).
